Not a watch for a runner
This is a user-hostile watch. A disaster for runners because after 30 minutes it does not show seconds--for a runner there is a huge difference between 30:00 and 30:59. The timer takes 4 separate steps to set and it's impossible to set anything without turning the indiglo feature on because the buttons are so poorly placed. I HATE this watch!
I've gotten better watches in a Happy Meal
I really liked this watch at first, although I thought there was an excessive amount of button-pushing involved to use any of the functions. It is supposedly water resistant, but after a particularly sweaty work-out, I noticed condensation inside the lens, and so I didn't let it get moist again. I've had it all of *six months,* and it died. Took it apart and it is full of crud. I've never seen a cheaper watch. It's not even worth it to send it in for a warranty replacement.
Decent looking, but poor quality
I was initially pleased with my Timex 1440 watch when I received it two months ago. Even though the button operations are different from and more limited than other Timex watches I've owned, it had the features I wanted (namely and alarm and stopwatch) and it wasn't too hard to use once I got used to it.

However, after two months of daily use the watch stopped working. It is stuck at 7:20 p.m. and does not respond to any button pushes. I never immersed the watch and I didn't do anything more than your average day to day living while wearing the watch. I looked up the warranty information for the watch and found that it would cost $7.00 to get the watch repaired or replaced - almost half the cost of the watch! At this point I'm not sure if I'd be throwing good money after bad by trying to get it repaired/replaced or if I should just give up and buy something else.

I would not suggest buying this watch - while it is an attractive price, decent looking, and functional, it just doesn't seem to last. And while there is a warranty, paying half again the price of the watch to get it repaired/replaced seems like a pretty raw deal.
NOT user-friendly
This watch is very difficult to use. I used my former Timex Ladies Sports Watch for everything - the alarm could be set for either daily or just week days.

This one has setting buttons that are very difficult to use - hard to push and confusing as to what is going on cos you dont know if you have pushed the buttons in hard enough to activate then it starts bouncing all around. Very bad design, guessing that this is why is has come down in price. I will be throwing it away and shopping in person for a new one.

STAY AWAY unless you have fingers of steel...
NOT water resistant
Bought this in June 2009. Wore it off and on for 6 months. Took it on a cruise in December, had it in the ocean for less than an hour and it started to die. The inside was fogged up with condensation and within 2 hours the watch was completely non functional. I was in less than 2 feet of water. Although Timex will fix the watch for $8 if you pay for shipping, it's probably worthwhile to spend more on a better watch. Also a bad thing about this watch is that you can't ever turn off the "Beep" when you switch between functions.

Don't buy it unless you want a disposable watch
I've uploaded several photos so you can see for yourself why I gave this watch only 1 star. Timex Ironman are my favorite watches, and I have owned several over the years (currently I own the Timex Ironman 30 Lap and it's great -- no problems with it whatsoever). But this one ... such a disappointment and ONLY because the resin strap/band is a piece of junk and the 'paint job' on face wore off almost immediately. The timepiece itself is fantastic. No problems there, but after the nice silver paint wore off, the little loop that prevents the excess band from catching on your clothing split and fell off (not a piece you can find & replace). Then the band started cracking in many places and the problem is not just aesthetic. Eventually it's going to fall apart completely and I won't be able to wear it again. The band is not replaceable. Such a bummer. A great watch but the poor quality band ruins it. BTW - I've owned this watch for 1-2 years and wear it constantly, including in the shower. So I've definitely *used* it, but this is marketed as a *triathlon* watch so I would expect it to be able to stand up to things like water.
SHAME ON TIMEX
This watch is advertised as a "triathlon" watch by Timex. It took on water the first time I took it in the pool! Timex customer service told me that you can't press the buttons when the watch is in the water!
Does anyone at Timex know what a triathlon is? I'm sorry, but if you call a watch a triathlon watch it means people are going to buy it to use swimming (getting splits, etc.) and they're going to need to press the buttons while the watch is wet! False advertising by Timex. They should be ashamed!
It isn't waterproof
Despite claims, this watch is NOT waterproof. The whole reason I bought it is so I could wear it in the pool. After only a few swims it began taking on water and shorted out. I would NOT recommend this watch if you plan on getting it wet.
Nonstandard Band; Watch Fell off; Wasted $35!
This is the 10th Timex Ironman watch I've purchased since 1987, and it will be my very last. Timex has begun using "chi chi" watch bands. Well, my wife looked down at her christmas present after only 4 months, and the watch WAS GONE FROM THE BAND! What a piece of garbage, I'm out $35 !!

If you use Timex Ironman watches, you know that the plastic bands eventually fail. What are you going to do when this band fails? NOTHING AT ALL, YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO THROW IT AWAY !!!

I'd rather own a happy meal than this watch. From now on, I'm going to buy the Ladies Expedition model, which uses standard watch bands. TIMEX THIS IS MY LAST IRON MAN PURCHASE !!!
Watch popped out of band
I purchased this watch at Wal-Mart, and after a month or two the strap separated from the watch on the side of the buckle. It pulled away from the watch where the two upper buttons are located. The watch could be hooked back into the strap; but the strap remained loose and the upper part of the watch separated from it frequently. This continued for another month or so until today, when the watch popped completely out of the strap and was lost somewhere. This is a terrible design and I would never purchase another one.

2 of these did not last a year
I once considered Timex watches to be the only reliable, yet affordable, brand on the market. I need to revise that opinion.

I've purchased 3 Timex watches in as many years. The last 2 were this model, which I purchased at a "buy one, get the other at half off" sale..

I simply prefer analog watches to digital and this simple, unadorned style has an uncluttered, easy to read face, as well as the battery-sapping, but useful, Indiglo feature for viewing in low light.

When the first of this model stopped working, I had the battery replaced. Unfortunately, this needs to be done by a jeweler, as the back cover can be removed, but requires a jeweler's press to put it back on.

A new battery failed to solve the problem. i returned the watch to Timex for repair under warranty. This repair was effective for only a few months before the watch stopped working again. Another new battery didn't solve the problem.

"C'est la vie," I thought, and simply began using the second watch that I'd purchased. This latest one has worked for 6 months before dying. Again, a new battery installed by a jeweler has failed to work.

I've never tested the water resistance recommendations by wearing it while showering or submerging it.

Between the 2 watches, I've spent over 40 dollars in battery replacements and shipping in less than 2 years to discover that the problem was with the watches.
fogged up after two months
I like the look and feel of this watch but, after only two months, moisture got inside, the face fogged up, and then the light stopped working. When I on went back on-line on Amazon to try to return it, I found out the return period had expired.
Did not work after just 8 days, light went out and so did the time!
After just 8 days, the light did not work and the watch lost time! In the past, I have had wonderful success with Timex watches, but they don't make them like they used to. I bought this watch just for the INDIGLO light feature and past great luck with Timex watches, however, this one did not do well. I was very disappointed with this watch. Would not reccommend this watch.
Beware Expedited Shipping Cost
The cost of shipping is not clear from the shopping cart.

Expedited shipping doubles the price of the watch!

Be very careful buying from this vendor as they did not make this extraordinary cost clear before completing the transaction.

A ridiculous and shamefully tragedy, a perpetual embarrassment for the names of Amazon and Timex
I bought this watch from Amazon in late September as a gift for my friend. My friend wore it for a week, and it simply stopped. It is such an embarrassment to me and my friend, thus I immediately purchased the other two Timex Women's watches(one is an easy reader, another one is a classic) from Amazon for my friend and told my friend the chances of getting a faulty brand new watch is remarkably slim, it must be an unluckily mistake, here are two brand new watches, if one stops, you've got another one for back-up. I promised my friend this kind of thing would not happen again on the other two newly purchased watches simply because from the statistically point of view, the chances of getting two faulty brand new watches are unthinkable and chances of getting three are only can see in sci-fi. Shamefully enough, my friend told me that she wore one of them for a week, and then the watch stopped. She took it to the shop to have a look, the guy told her it was not a battery problem, he did not have a clue what's going on. Then she started to wear another one for a day only, and the watch stopped again!!!!

How unbelievable it is! Even I could not believe it! The chances of getting three faulty brand new Timex watches in three weeks are even slimmer than winning three times top price Lotto in three weeks!!! I simply stunned. I guess I shall never not see my friend again or I shall go try my luck on Saturday Lotto.

To my frustration, I tried to call international customer service on Amazon, it could not get connected. I tried to call Timex international customer service, it could not get connected too. I finally got connected on a Timex Australia dealer in Sydney on phone, and the lady told me she did not know if Amazon is an authorised online dealer for Timex, she had to report to her manager and would get back to me later. She also told me if the watches did not come with warranties, they could not be returned and refund. I checked my Amazon packages, I did not see any warranty cards.

I have emailed Amazon customer service about my problem. Hopefully they will get back to me and resolve the problem smoothely.

I suggestion to whom wanting to purchase Timex watches on Amazon is that check the return and refund policies before purchase. Bear in mind highly likely the watches would fail straight away, so it is not recommended as gifts, or it might even ruin your friendships.

Band broke in 2 days
First, the little leather loop to hold the excess strap came off when I put the watch on for the second time. Then, the buckle came off the third time I tried to put it on. The watch piece is great, but the band I got was useless.
Keeps losing time!
I've had this watch for about 15 months now and it keeps losing time. I've replaced the battery twice and it has not helped the problem. It started losing time 6-8 months ago at a rate of a few minutes a month, then a few minutes a week, and in the last few days it has lost several hours overnight. The band was also fairly cheap - I replaced it a few months ago and may have replaced it once before that - I'm not sure. I see the warranty is for 1 year, and I've spent enough time and money dealing with this thing that I'm just going to get a new watch - it sure won't be this model! Also, the battery cover was *very* difficult to replace (too tight) when I changed the battery. I had to take it to a jeweler to get the back cover on. All in all, I've invested way more in batteries, band, and labor than the original watch cost. Good lesson for me.
It's nice but the wrong color.
I needed a brown watchband, and it is definitely black! I kept it,it's nice, I didn't want the hastle of returning, but needed to purchase another brown watchband.
Great Timepiece, Poor Quality Band
The timepiece itself is clean, simple, and elegant--it's a shame that the band doesn't match its quality. The band which comes with the watch is faux leather, which feels cheap and scratchy. I also had the loop which holds the band in place break after 2 days. I like the watch itself, but if you buy this, I would definitely plan on replacing the watchband with a nicer one. The added expense to replace the band may not make this watch such a great value. It's really a shame for the price that they couldn't give you a better quality, genuine leather watchband.
Night Light.
I wear it to bed and can see what time it is in the middle of the night, which makes me happy. But they die easily and this is probably my 8th or 10th in 15 years.

not a great watch
The price was great but the short time I have had it the band broke.I guess the old saying you only get what you pay for. Spend the little extra
Timex Watch okay
The watch was fine until last week when the metal part of buckle broke. Now I have to get another band for it, very simple plain watch. It runs fine has no features other than tell time.
Very Pretty and still working
This is a gorgeous and "delicate" looking watch. I can read it without my glasses and so far it works. I've had trouble with Timex in the past, so I hope this holds up well. It is very pretty and can go with casual or a nice dress in the evening. Update: Don't run it through the wash cycle! Hah. Darn.
Not Indiglo
This is a nice watch, but it is not an Indiglo (face lights up), which I put in the search box. This just teaches me to be more careful in ordering.
Simple and elegant
Strap made of genuine leather. Soft and comfortable to wear. Looks elegant too. Would have given it 5 stars if it was water resistant too.
