Poor build quality (Updated)
I ordered this watch from Amazon, and within 10 minutes of receipt, the crown (winding knob) had fallen off. I followed the instructions in the manual to the letter, so I do not believe it was my fault.

From the minute I unscrewed the crown -- this watch features a crown that screws in for watertightness -- it felt flimsy and poorly secured.

Furthermore, Amazon will not replace this product. The best they will do is a refund, which takes 7-14 days from the time they receive the returned product. And they require you to go to the post office and mail it via insured USPS mail, instead of having UPS (the delivery company) pick it up.

Amazon's price is great, as is TAG's reputation, but this situation has left a bad taste in my mouth with regard to both companies.

Think twice before buying this (or any other TAG) from a non-Authorized retailer, like Amazon.

-- UPDATE --
I ordered a second watch from Amazon in hopes that the first one was a fluke. I'm pleased to report that the second watch meets all the expectations I had of a TAG Heuer.

I still wish Amazon would allow for exchanges instead of having return/repurchase, but that's the only negative aspect of this purchase. I can't update my rating, but I would give this product 4 stars, with the 1 star deduction being due to Amazon's exchange policy and lack of telephone support.

I'm very pleased with this purchase, and I recommend the watch and Amazon, but do keep in mind everything I've written above. There are definitely some drawbacks when not purchasing from an authorized dealer.
Disappointed
I had always wanted a Tag watch and finally received this Aquaracer as a gift. First off, it looks and feels good. However, the luminous dial is very small and weak. It is nearly impossible to see the hands even after just turning off the lights in a completely dark room. The second problem is that the automatic movement stops if not worn for 10 hours or so. This is a bit inconvenient, I put mine on first thing in the morning to make sure it keeps running. I would not get the automatic if I was buying this watch again. Hope this is helpful for other Tag fans.
Tag Heuer Aquaracer auto
Great watch thing look forward to wearing it. Some reservation to warranty since Amazon didn't sign warranty card and doesn't appear to be authorized retailer. Hope there own warranty is sufficient should anything go wrong.
Oustanding Bargain!
I bought this watch for my husband as a wedding gift. I did a lot of research in jewelry stores and online and this was BY FAR the lowest price I could find ANYWHERE, including [...]. I saved at least [...] from the next lowest price I could find. In addition, I received free shipping. The watch came beautifully packaged in Tag's original box. We took it the day it arrived to an authorized Tag Heuer dealer and they verified the authenticity and sized it for [...]. The watch is beautiful!
Quality timepiece, very accurate for an automatic

I recently purchased the WAF2110.BA0806 Aquaracer from Amazon. Before I move on, let's get the fact right: the size of this watch is 38.4mm, not 43mm. You can get the definitive information from Tag Heuer's web site.

The Calibre 5 automatic movement inside this watch is the same ETA 2824-2 that powers numerous mess-produced watches that cost less than one-fifth as much as the Aquaracer. If you want the most movement for your money, go get an Omega or Oris. Tag Heuer have a high level of brand recognition here in the US but that's not because they have the best movements (hint: smart marketing). I bought this watch because: 1) it looks good on my wrist (tried it on at my local mall). 2) it's less expensive than, say, the SeaMaster.

Right out of the box I sync'ed it up with the offical us time website. Three days later I check it again and I couldn't believe my eyes - it gained only 2 seconds! Let me tell you this: this is THE most accurate mechanical watch I've ever heard of, period. Well, it may be just dumb luck. Maybe as time goes by it's accuracy will drift away. But as of now, I am a happy-as-a-clam Tag owner.

NOT an authorised TAG dealer
I ordered the watch assuming the seller was an authorised TAG dealer and that the watch would have the standard 2 year TAG International all inclusive no quibble parts & labour warranty. It turns out the seller isnt an authorised dealer!

Despite returning the watch within hours of it arriving Im having an awful time trying to get a refund. If youre happy buying an expensive watch that doesnt have a TAG warranty it might be fine but I wanted the TAG peace of mind and am VERY disappointed that the seller isnt honest enough to say they arent an authorised dealer meaning the watch wont be covered warranty wise. Ive paid the extra and bought the watch from an authorised TAG dealer. Pay the extra and buy from an authorised dealer rather than save a small amount and just hope it doesnt develop an expensive fault.
Beautiful Watch...cannot keep time
I recently purchased this watch from [...] through amazon. I received it and it arrived as expected. I could not wait to get it sized and start wearing it. I have know worn the watch 5 days in a row and will set it in the morning and by the middle of the afternoon the watch is already running 20-30 minutes fast. Not hardly the type of time keeping that you would expect from such an expensive watch.
Nice item but ...
No problem with the delivery but I had to pay a hundred additional dollar for customs fees and tax, non-estimated at the begin.
Good Service but not an official Tag Heuer dealer
I have received my Tag Heuer watch within 4 days of ordering, although upon receipt I realised this reseller is not an official TAG Heuer partner which means they cannot issue me with an international warranty card, so that when I am in Europe or elsewhere in the world I will not be able to have my watch serviced.
Other than that I have had no problems at all with this reseller.
Birthday gift for husband
After debating back and forth between several models, I went with the Link series and was very pleased with the purchase. This was a 30th birthday gift for my husband who really enjoys this watch. It's casual, yet classy and it well suited for the office or a night out.

Great look, poor time keeping
This watch is obviously a head turner- lots of compliments. But the time keeping is nothing to brag about. Mine has been running about 5 seconds fast per day no matter which way I lay it at night. The other thing I noticed was that the claimed 36 hour wind life might not be quite that long. I let mine sit for only 24 hours and it was stopped.

I would still recommend this watch though. I am happy with my purchase for the money.
excellent buy
This Aquaracer automatic was an excellent buy! The price was great at $780.00! I own many automatic watches and this one is becoming one of my favorites. The fit and finish of the band, face, are all nice. The timing is extremely easy to read in any light! The diver artwork on the back of the watch is done very nicely.

I do have 2 problems with the watch though. When I recieved the watch, the international warranty card was missing. Amazon does warranty the watch for 2 years. I contacted Amazon about this. They responded with a regret the card was missing and reiterated they warranty the watch for 2 years, however there was nothing they could do about the card. I was able to register the new watch on the Tag Heuer web-site for warranty coverage.

The other problem is the bezel is VERY hard to rotate. After rotating it a couple of times it did seem to be getting easier. However it is still the most difficult bezel to rotate of any watch I have.

**** Since I originally wrote this review I have been watching the timing. Now that I have had the watch for over 2 months, the timing is not what I would have expected for a Tag Heuer. I keep the watch in a winder when I'm not wearing it, so that is not the problem. The watch is gaining 8 seconds per day, every day. It is precisely 8 seconds EVERY DAY, so the mechanics of the watch are excellent. I'm sure if Tag had subjected this watch for COSC certification this would have been adjusted. Oh well.
Well worth the price
I waited 10 days after purchase to write this review because I wanted to test the accuracy of this watch. I can safely say that the time gain is about 10 seconds, which means on average the watch gains one second a day. Even by COSC standards (the Swiss time-keeping institute that awards certificates to superlative chronometers like Rolex and Breitling) this is very good indeed. I believe the movement is in-house made, though the base caliber is probably from ETA/Valjoux. My version is blue, though black is equally handsome. Note that the latest versions have "Aquaracer'' on the dial but I don't think it makes any difference performance-wise. Also note that Longines have just a couple of months ago released a line that looks similar and is about US$300 cheaper but the finishing on the TAG is much better. All in all, this is a rugged daily use watch that keeps excellent time and so represents decent value for money.
Solid auto diver at a great price
I have had this watch for a couple of months now. This is a fine watch with excellent craftsmanship. The blue bezel and dial are aesthetically pleasing and much more interesting than the plain old black version. Also, the the price from Amazon can't be beat.

2 minor issues:

1. Mine is about 15 seconds fast per day. With automatic watches, being couple seconds slow/fast per day is normal, however, 15 seconds is bordering on it being out of spec.

2. The description of this watch states that the reserve is 48hr, but in reality it's much less than that.

Even with these 2 issues, the watch still deserves 5 stars
Time honord classic style....great quality....Aquaracer
I've collected several "dive watches" over the years...TAG F1 chrono, Rolex Sub, Swiss Army...but I have to admit that this model is my latest favorite...classic styling, great build quality, simplicity of operation
all add up to one great watch at a very reasonable price...($772)

Bad surprise from a prestige brand
In terms of design and ergonomic (is very confortable on the wrist) I am very happy.
The big negative surprise is the accuracy, each 24hours it adds 20 seconds , what is unacceptable for a $1000 watch.
Because I order from USA to Europe the return is a problem and the warranty is not valid because Amazon (seller) is not an authorized agent.
It seems that this problem is common with TAG watches.
Started soft and ended strong
Found this watch as a Christmas gift to myself in 12/08. Great price and less expensive than the same model I found locally -- that was used! So I ordered and was glad to see sold and shipped by Amazon. Watch arrives in GREAT packaging, looks wonderful, seems to be working fine... then BAM. Five days later the date locks. Can't even move it with the crown. So I call Amazon customer service, provide my info and ship to Kentucky for repairs. I'm skeptical at this point. Amazon provided me the contact info for the repair shop in KY, so I called and spoke to them once my watch arrived (I had to pay shipping to KY, and I purchased insurance. Amazon paid the shipping back to me, which was nice.) Repairman said it wasn't that big of a concern (the date not switching) and they should have my piece back to me in 6-8 weeks. It arrived back in five weeks. I'M VERY HAPPY NOW! Watch is working great, the experience was great, and dealing with Amazon customer service for a significant purchase like this really turned out to be easy and efficient.
Great watch - terrible overseas mail system!
The watch looks great - a gift for my husband - so no complaints there!! It is a bit bigger than expected - the dimensions could have been listed. However the mail experience with UPS was terrible. I had to track the watch myself (a month after I ordered it)to get any kind of info. I received 2 e-mail from Perfect Timing telling me they were sending the watch back because duties had not been paid. The first time I had not received any info on this and the second time I had already paid the duty a week earlier!! Lots of phone calls and e-mails before the watch finally arrived too late for the birthday.
Good Watch, Very Comfortable
This watch is very verstile & will help you "look the part" when you need to without being over-the-top as to distract. Very surprised with how comfortable this watch is. It is heavy, but I don't feel it on my wrist as much as I do my other watches.

Mine is gaining a consistent 7 seconds per day, which is very acceptable.
The accuracy of automatic watches
This watch is an automatic, meaning that it contains a mechanical movement powered by the action of the wearer's wrist. Some mechanical movements must be wound manually by the user. Neither type require a battery as a quartz watch would. The payoff is that all mechanical watches, however much they might cost, are less accurate than any quartz watch one might buy for $20 from a local garage. The reason that one might pay upwards of $1000 for such a watch is that the movement is a precise, finely engineered example of the watchmaker's craft, and not a simple piece of electronics produced by the millions as might be found in a cheap Casio (to take nothing away from Casio).

The highest quality automatic watches are known as 'chronometers', and must contain a movement that has passed a rigorous set of tests laid down by the Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (www.cosc.ch). Such a movement will have an accuracy of 99.99%, which is the maximum obtainable. Only 3% of all watches produced in Switzerland each year are certified as chronometers. Briefly, the COSC standard states that a certified movement must be accurate to within -4/+6 seconds per day. Most high-quality mechanical watches can be adjusted by a good watchmaker to meet that level of accuracy. As far as I am aware, this movement (a Tag-modified ETA 2824-2 for the technically inclined) is not COSC certified; however, this does not mean that it cannot meet the standard, but simply that Tag Heuer have not submitted it for testing.

Even chronometer-certified movements are still less accurate than a quartz watch. This is not a problem specific to Tag Heuer, but is common to any mechnical watch, whether it be from Rolex, Omega, Breitling or any other manufacturer. Even Omega's new co-axial movement is not designed to increase accuracy, but rather stability over time. Stability is often considered to be a more desirable characteristic than pure accuracy in a mechanical timepiece (which is in any case impossible); that is, that it constantly gains 6 seconds a day, rather than gaining one day and losing time the next.

Many people (and websites) confuse chronometers with chronographs. A chronograph is a watch that has extra functions and displays allowing the timing of individual events, similar to a stopwatch. This watch is not a chronograph.

When buying an expensive watch, or any other valuable item, it pays to do a small amount of research and understand what exactly it is one is paying for.

I have always been very impressed with the build quality of Tag Heuers; their finishing and reliability is excellent and they are very reasonably priced when compared to other high-grade Swiss watches.

Looks great - automatic accuracy OK
The look and feel of the watch are great. This is the 1st non-quartz watch I have owned - it losses about 6 seconds per day (hence the 4 stars). I have no issue with adjusting the time every week or two, but if accuracy is critical for you - go for the quartz options. I have the watch about a month and have had no issues with it stopping - as one or two other reviewers had.

Price wise dealing with Amazon implied huge savings for me.
Excellent Orginal Tag Heuer from Amazon
I order this model from Amazon, for US$1,299.00 the only difference was that it was in white. I was unsure because the price was too low, but decided to go ahead, the watch is original & Brand New, and in perfect conditions, LOVE IT!!! Specially the price. Of course from Amazon you do not get an international warranty, just the Amazon one which I think is enough, I think in this issue consists the price reduction becuase Amazon is not an authorized retailer from TAG, but in this kind of watches rarely you'll need to repair them, ans you have a warranty for it... The delivery was amazing, right on the spot.

The Watch:
At first I was not too keen on the shinny markers of the rotating crown, until I gave it a very strong hit against a pool bottom, while diving, this markers are an excellent protection against this kind of accidents. Sapphire crystal has already been given various tests and pass with flying colors. Of course this is an automatic, do not expect the accuracy of a quartz, but if you know about watches you'll get an automatic, well worth timepiece. What I liked most about this watch is the disposition of the chronometer, very similar to the Link (200m Water Resistance), and Carrera models(50m Water Resistance), but with 300 meters resistance to water and with lower price.

On the down sides, the crown rotates to easy for my taste, the bracelet polished parts will get scratched as well as the shiny markers on the rotating crown and the security clasp will wear down over time, but still FIVE STARS for the watch, TAG HEUER and AMAZON are my personal favorites...

Be sure to check all offers, this watches become available from time to time in the great deals around $1,300.00 from AMAZON... I surely will buy another one for my collection.
Perfect blend of quality, style, durability, value
After considering more costly watches such as Rolex and Breitling, since receiving it as a gift from my wife, I have been totally thrilled with this watch. Admittedly its larger than many watches, but the durability is unparalleled. The accuracy is perfectly accurate. The style and appearance, though subjective and individual, is stunning... etc,. I am convinced this is as perfect a watch as one can buy.
Tag Heuer Aquaracer
Everything was perfekt, fast delivery, perfekt condition and boxes and watch with serialnumber. Live in Sweden and this was a really good price :-)
Great service!
Made a mistake and ordered this watch. Called the next day and they were extremely helpful. Cancelled the order with not problem. Made me want to shop with them in the future.
Ultimately ordered the watch. It is beautiful and runs flawlessly so far (with a valjoux 7750) I would expect it to. This is one of the main reasons I ordered the watch aside from price was to get this movement in a less than gigantic watch that can dress up or down. Amazon's service is great -- no problems. Two amendments: The first time I ordered it I received a used watch (links removed, no plastic wraping). They took it back immediately and sent a new one. Also the price quoted is the price without tax. I am not used to paying tax on the net and amazon should alert you to this added expense.

Daylight burglars steal jewellery worth £20k from Bothwell home

THIEVES made off with £22,000-worth of jewellery and watches after breaking into a home.

The raiders’ haul included a Breitling Navigator watch, a gent’s Tag Heuer watch and a large quantity of jewellery, including an 18-carat gold diamond solitaire ring.

Police this week appealed for witnesses or any information concerning the theft, which occurred at a house in Fallside Road, Bothwell, on Monday, September 14, between 8am and noon.

Just before the police were contacted, a green Nissan car was seen parked outside the property.

Three or four men were seen inside the vehicle, with another man seen leaving the property with a black bag, which he put in the boot.

Constable Natalie Johnston, who is leading the investigation, has appealed for the public’s help in tracking down the car.

Tag Heuer automatic carrera watch?

Hugo H asks: 1. Tag Heuer watches are regarded as top hits of excellence, especially the automatic, is not it? But why retailers only give 2 years warranty for a TAG Heuer Carrera watch? is not meant to be a deadly pattern "long" or eternal?

2. where can I find a site that tells me more about the mechanics inside the model Carrera Automatic? I am not a watchmaker, I want to know the legal specialty of this watch.

apple answers: Tag are often considered as hits reputable and have mid-range to very expensive, but they are not considered high quality watches such as AP, Piaget, etc. I do not think that a watch with CAMS spark a "long life" warranty.

You can go to TAG Heuer's home page and learn more about the model you are looking for.

Tag Heuer automatic watch gains a lot in 2 weeks?

Alex M asks: I have bought a Tag Heuer Carrera Automatic watch in the summer, but since then it gains at least 3 minutes in two weeks after having adjusted it. Then I zip it again, but in two-three weeks it gains a lot again.
The back of it is transparent (there is a glass "window"), and I can see a tiny screw with "+" and "-" signs. that may be the key key? how does that work, what can be adjusted by that?
If it is so, and suppose the screw is turned towards the "+" sign, then the watch itself will run faster? Therefore, 1 r won't be 1 minute at all, but will past much faster?

retroactivism answers: The first fetich I would try is changing the way the watch is oriented when you're not wearing. On most of my watches, I store the watch crown up. Try crown up, crown down, and face up and see how much time you gather/lose per day. The goal is in the last paragraph of this answer. If you are still outside an acceptable margin, see the next section.

When you first start wearing a involuntary watch, there may be a 'settling in' time where the watch speeds up or slows down. This results in lost or gained time.

When this occurs, the watch will need to be adjusted (regulated in watch terms). This alter involves turning the regulation screw (the part you noticed) to either speed up (+) or slow down (-) the watch.

This is an operation that should be done by a certified watch restore person. It involves removing the caseback. If done improperly, you could lose the water resistance features of the watch.

It may be with the shop for a few days as they keep it in a winder and evaluate their adjustments. Its a trial and error procedure.

The goal is to put the watch into C.O.S.C. timing standards. This is a range of -4 or +6 seconds per day.

The first emotional attachment I would try is changing the way the watch is oriented when you're not wearing. On most of my watches, I store the watch crown up. Try crown up, crown down, and face up and see how much time you gain ground/lose per day. The goal is in the last paragraph of this answer. If you are still outside an acceptable margin, see the next section.

When you first start wearing a ritualistic watch, there may be a 'settling in' time where the watch speeds up or slows down. This results in lost or gained time.

When this occurs, the watch will need to be adjusted (regulated in watch terms). This treat involves turning the regulation screw (the part you noticed) to either speed up (+) or slow down (-) the watch.

This is an operation that should be done by a certified watch nick person. It involves removing the caseback. If done improperly, you could lose the water resistance features of the watch.

It may be with the shop for a few days as they keep it in a winder and analysis their adjustments. Its a trial and error procedure.

The goal is to put the watch into C.O.S.C. timing standards. This is a range of -4 or +6 seconds per day.
